FAQ - Shipping to Costa Rica
Costa Rica Shipping FAQ
1. Why can’t CupCrew ship directly to Costa Rica?
Costa Rica does not have regular home mail delivery. Packages from abroad must arrive through Miami and then be forwarded by local courier companies (called casilleros). This is the standard, reliable way to shop online in Costa Rica.
2. How does shipping to Costa Rica work with CupCrew?
- You enter your Miami forwarding address (casillero) at checkout.
- CupCrew ships your order to Miami.
- Your forwarder (MundoExpress, Aeropost, JetBox, Box Correos, etc.) receives it.
- The forwarder clears customs and delivers your tumbler to your local correo branch or directly to you.
- You pay their per-kg fee and any duties at pickup or delivery.
3. What if I don’t have a forwarder account yet?
No problem! You can sign up with services like:
- MundoExpress – free casillero, strong local delivery network.
- Aeropost – transparent pricing and calculators.
- JetBox – strong app and tracking.
- Box Correos – operated by Correos de Costa Rica, great rural coverage.
Each will give you a Miami address + account/casillero number you use at checkout.
4. Do I pay CupCrew for Costa Rica delivery?
No. CupCrew covers shipping to Miami.
You pay your forwarder in Costa Rica separately for local delivery, kg fees, and duties. This is standard in Costa Rica.
5. Can CupCrew deliver directly in Costa Rica without a forwarder?
For now, all Shopify orders must go through Miami. For local B2B customers in Costa Rica, we offer direct delivery through our own forwarder. If this applies to you, please contact us directly.
6. Where can I get help?
If you have questions about setting up a casillero or tracking your package in Costa Rica, contact your chosen forwarder.
